  1. I went freelance two years ago, and you can’t be prepared enough for this transition. I would heartily recommend the seminars on starting a freelance career and estimating. I took the estimating seminar when I was starting out, and it provided excellent advice that I’ve used ever since. I keep Jennifer’s guide to estimating right beside my desk and refer to it almost every time I write a proposal.
